Pre-1900 Birth

Answer

Thank you for your email.  Regrettably, we have limited pre-1900 birth records in out collections.  What records we do have (for particular years and counties) are listed in our vital Records research guide.  You will need to know the location and date of birth to access this record. Typically, the birth date and location is located on the death certificate.
More information about locating pre-1900 birth records can be found on our Minnesota People Records Search FAQ.
Due to limited staff, we are unable to do in-depth research for patrons via email.  If you plan on visiting the library, a librarian would be happy to assist you with your research.
If you are unable to visit us, you can contact one of our independent researchers to do the research for you: Independent Researchers at Gale Family Library
