Family History- General

Answer

Due to limited staff time and resources, we are unable to do in-depth family history research for patrons via email.  We are more than happy to point you to some resources to help you get started with your research.

The Gale Family Library has a wide array of resources you can utilize to do your family history.  I would recommend starting with our online how-to genealogy guide.  More specific how-to guides on particular topics--such as census, naturalization, birth and death records--can be found online via this link.

If you plan on visiting the library, a librarian would be happy to assist you with accessing any of the materials listed in these guides.  To learn more about researching at the library, visit our website.

If you live out of state and are unable to visit the library, you can request family history records via our research request service webpage.
